Projects and Veins Galore.

Dave's face now features permanently gritted teeth, blood-red face and veins popped to the max. Why? Because I'm decorating! And it's about time!

I made some critical errors in the beginning that I now despise, so i'm going back and re-doing the things I hate. Somethings are too expensive to change, so I'm trying to work with them (paint color is fine, curtains in the LR are staying, etc).

Here goes the Living Room...
Rug (8x10)
Side table (former sewing table with legs sawed shorter)
Huge mirrors on each side of the TV stand
Move clock between mirrors above TV stand
Hang print where clock previously was (except lower)
Paint TV stand
Take green recliner down to basement
Move leather chair to corner
New pillows for the couch/chair
Re-frame family pictures all same color
Accessorize

And the Dining Room....
Goodbye fussy, expensive curtains (yikes!)
Hello white, cheap IKEA curtains
Take out botanical prints
Take out sewing table
Console table between windows
Take out mirror
Hang art (possibly our B&W wedding picture)
Hang up floating IKEA shelves
Natural table runner from Target
Hang up Silhouettes

Now the Kitchen:
Paint barstools white
Paint chairs white
Swag light fixture in breakfast nook
Paint beadboard (not sure, really)
Accessorize

And finally, the bedroom:
Make or buy a new headboard
White comforter/bedspread
New espresso-colored nightstands (target)
Standing lamp for corner
Prints for either side of bed
Print for above bed
Move armoire downstairs
Small, flatscreen TV to fit in armoire
Put glass collection on top of armoire
Reupholster/paint antique chair - corner
Leaning espresso huge mirror
Rug (not really sure about this)
Plate collection on a wall TBD

It does seem like a lot, right?

Curtailed No More!

Boo-YA! (or however that goes). Curtains are finished. They aren't exactly what I wanted, but at this point, I'd be cool with garbage bags.

Roman Shades in the LR:

Master Bathroom - found this fabric on sale for mega-cheap. I love it:

I gave up.

I made Dave take the curtains and curtain rod down, spackle up the holes and Barb will hopefully touch up the paint tonight. God bless them both for bearing with me through this whole thing. I just couldn't do it. While the curtains do look nice in the pictures below, they just didn't fit with the rest of the house.

Our house has an extremely open floor plan, and it just wasn't working. So...I'm starting over. I'm going to start in the breakfast nook, per my MIL's wise suggestion, and do something small and light for those windows.

I will then work my way into the LR and probably do roman shades on the windows of the french door and maybe (MAYBE) something on the arch windows. The DR needs curtains too.

Here are the fabrics that I love. The paisley will be in the LR, the check will be in the breakfast nook, and the tweed and maybe the paisley will be in the DR. These pictures look a little yellow, but they are NOT yellow in person.
